Singing

I was blessed with a passion for singing and it makes me joyful!  My grandma often tells me the story of when I was only two years old and I was singing an Annie song while waiting for my mom.  She says I finished up the song and told her “Grandma, I want to sing that song on a stage.”  That was the beginning of me singing on stage, I was in my first competition at age 4 and I still love being on stage.  I have been singing and studing music for most of my life with my mom.  For the past three years, I have been working with professional vocal coaches.   I have a vocal range of over 3 octaves that I have worked hard to achieve.  I have been in contests and competitions, performed for events (including the Mrs. Minnesota-America Pageant.)   I sing the national anthem for sports events (tap photo to hear) and fundraisers.  I have performed for both small groups and in large auditoriums.  The photo on the left is me on the Chanhassen Dinner Theater’s Acting Company wall.  I had so much fun performing in four shows each week!

Volunteering

Some of my favorite volunteer opportunities include:

  • Nursing homes and Alzheimer’s care homes

  • The Junior League of Minneapolis as a model in their American Girl Fashion Show for six years and emceed the event for the last two years

  • Ringing bells while singing for the Salvation Army with my grandma Jackie

  • Having a fun time with my grandma Janet at the day center for mentally  challenged adults

  • Building bears for Project Bear Hugs with my friend, Grace

  • Reading with the kindergarten and preschool kids at Liberty Classical Academy

  • Singing for fundraising walks or events such as the MusicLink Foundation (tap photo to hear) and the Boys and Girls Club

  • Participating in walks for various causes.

I have my own store, Liberty Boutique, where I sell my hand-made hair accessories and drawstring bags to fundraise for the LCA tuition assistance fund.

I am grateful for the opportunities I've been given to play a part in making others happy.

Education

I am a fifth grade student at Liberty Classical Academy in White Bear Lake, Minnesota.  Liberty Classical Academy is a private classical, Christian, college preparatory school that scores in the top 13% of the nation.  The ‘normal’ track at LCA is more rigorous than the accelerated/honors programs at most schools.  The best part of LCA is that when you visit our school you will see joyful students that love to learn.  I pride myself at being a good student.  I have been awarded the academic achievement award for overall academics (95% and above in all subjects) as well as the Academic Achievement Award in Latin and I have placed 1st in Speech Meet (see my 5th grade video here) and Chronological Quest.  This year, I was voted lower school president and I held a volunteer challenge.  The lower school students kept track of their volunteer service hours for the first quarter and turned in their hours and an essay on their favorite volunteer activity.  I presented the winners with a certificate and a gift that was donated for each student.  I have issued another volunteer challenge from Thanksgiving through the middle of May and will award the winners at the end of the year.

Working

I started working at age 4; at first I just modeled but then I added local musicals, plays, screen play reading, runway modeling, print modeling, fit modeling, commercial, film, and hopefully soon- voiceovers!  Working has taught me to be responsible.  Sometimes, I go into jobs or shows by myself and need to do everything on my own.  If I don’t work hard or do a good job it affects other peoples’ jobs as well.  It is my responsibility to make sure I am doing what I was hired for. Because of my great work ethic, I am often booked again by the same companies- I worked for Target Fit 2-6 times a month for over a year and a half even though I was WAY over the size specs!  I do earn quite a bit of money for a kid, but, I don’t spend it, I invest it!  I have been putting all the money I earn (less half my self-employment taxes) into a Roth IRA for years!
